wayne sheldon
I like that "without obstruction of the driver's view" after mentioning not crushing gowns! Some women's hats in that era could fill half the windshield!
brasscarguy
I had a barn fresh 1913 Waverly colonial coupe as pictured in the ad. I got it running and drove it around one summer. The issue with the early electrics was only one speed no gears and no power to get up small grades. I even added a couple of batteries to add a bit more power but that did not help much. I sold it on Ebay about 6 years ago and it was shipped to Moscow Russia. I expected to hear from the purchaser when he received the car to ask questions but not a word. It looked good in my car barn but that was about it. Too valuable to just look at so off it went. brasscarguy.

brasscarguy
I sold that 1913 Waverly Electric to a man in Moscow Russia about 4 years ago. I removed the hard rubber tires and replaced them with 25" demountable wheels and Lester white wall tires. I also replaced all the batteries and connections. I added 2 additional 6 volt batteries to increase the voltage. All controller wiring was original and worked well. The interior was original and a bit shabby but very useable. The windshield opened by sliding up and into the ceiling much like of model t town car. The reason I sold it was on the flat the car could do 25 mph, but the slightest grade the speed was only 5-7 miles an hour. Being only 1 gear speed the grades and hills were its down fall. Too much money to be tied up in a non useable car with todays traffic. brasscarguy
