ANYONE REPLACED A CLUTCH IN A 41 CONTINENTAL. I WOULD LIKE INFORMATION ON THE PROCESS OF REPLACING MY CLUTCH. PULL THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION? MY TRANSMISSION IS A OVERDRIVE TYPE AND WONDER IF IT WOULD SPLIT AT THE OVERDRIVE BOX TO PULL IT OUT. ALSO WOULD THE CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE AND THE DISC BE THE SAME AS THE TYPE USED ON 41 FORD CAR.

Well, this isn't a fun job but not that bad. You need to remove the entire transmission (OD and all). to do this you will have to unbolt the rear spring from it's upper mount, un do the shocks , brake line(s)and track bar. un-bolt the ball socket at the rear of the OD and slide the rear axle assembly back ( with the back end raised of course)so that transmission can be removed up thru the floor. This is a good time to go ahead and check the tranny out also. Dee
