Swmddo
I have a 1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Town Sedan. The engine bay was a mess before I took everything out and restored it. I did not notice how the mangled spring to the carb was connected. I have a new one now, and am trying to remember how it was attached. I assumed to the firewall, so the accelerator can return to its idle position when the carb does. With all my 1949 Lincoln shop manuals for this, you would think they might have had a picture! The only way I can see it attaching is through a small hole in the firewall. Is that correct?
Pete O
Found this on the web.... IF you zoom in it looks like the spring connects to the firewall below the wiper motor.
Swmddo
Pete, thanks for this image! I have been looking for something like this, but I could never find one. I suspected that the small hole under the wiper motor was the place,( but now Looks like I will have to remove the wiper motor to get to that) steve
