ia-k
My son was out scrapping last weekend and I have asked if he comes across any old auto parts to bring them to me I can look them over before ending up at the metal recycling place. He brought home several old alternators, most were Delco-Remy but an "odd ball" Motorola was in the bunch. Idea on what it it was used on?? Years?? Rusty_OToole
I have seen Motorola alternators installed as an upgrade in place of the stock alternator. In my case it was an ambulance conversion that got a 110amp Motorola in place of the stock Delco. That one seems to be a 72 amp probably dates to the sixties when 35 amp alternators were most common. Could have been on a tow truck, ambulance, or the like.
28 Chrysler
That looks like one I had on a 1962 Dodge PU that was originally a Minnesota highway department truck. The truck had some radio equipment was installed under the dash.
Larry Schramm
Not unusual. They made alternators I believe well in to the '80's.

We were putting them on ambulances in 1988. Not necessarily the same alternator but Motorola alternators.
