Domi Posted July 23, 2022 Author Posted July 23, 2022 Hello Marty have you the informations about your carburetor ? all the best dominique
carbking Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 In 1946, Chrysler used both a Ball & Ball (manufactured by Carter for Chrysler) SINGLE barrel carburetor AND a Stromberg DOUBLE barrel carburetor. Would need to know which intake manifold you have. Jon.
Domi Posted July 25, 2022 Author Posted July 25, 2022 Hello you will find attached pictures of the manifold, I think it’s a double barrel Stromberg Dominique
Domi Posted July 26, 2022 Author Posted July 26, 2022 Which reference of AAVS2 is used for the T&C : 380165 (4-111) or 380169 (4-112)?
normanpitkin Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 i spent 10 years looking for a stromberg AAVS2 for my 48 new yorker eventually gave up ,what i know exists is a 2 to 1 adapter for the carter carb.
carbking Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 4-111 has the square air horn; 4-112 has the round air horn. So the carburetor varied as the air cleaner used. I cannot tell you which would be correct for the T & C. The Carter you have should bolt to the intake manifold without any adapter; but is internally too small for your engine. Jon
Domi Posted July 27, 2022 Author Posted July 27, 2022 I have a round air horn, so it would be the reference 4-112. Thanks a lot Jon for all these details
