1956 Buicks have graceful styling, and colors

can spectacularly enhance that styling.

That said, this car in all white, with a somber

white-and-gray interior, must be the plainest

1956 Buick that one could order!

What a missed opportunity, in my opinion.

A/C was not a common option until the mid 60's and that was on finer cars. Regular Chevys and Fords didn't routinely get air until the '70's. My '56 and '57 Caddies had power windows that I fixed, but I'd just as soon have manual windows on an old car. Two tone paint would be the way to go with this car.

The dash, and door cards and rear quarter badging (looks like 4 barrell carb also) certainly denote a Century model but the front fenders appear to have been replaced with Special fenders (3 ports rather than 4). Perhaps given the rocker and door area, I presume the fenders were replaced due to rust.

Do 10 people a day actually stop to give it the thumbs-up? That would be 70 a week, or 280 a month? This car must be something special but they're not exactly beating the doors down to buy this non-runner.

That was the first thing I noticed.
