Beware of Andy Bernbaum’s “new” website…

Professor

Recommended Posts

All,

Even though I have had 5 of 9 orders from Andy Bernbaum (in the last two years, so not the “real” Andy Bernbaum) with mistakes due to (mostly) wrong parts being sent and (fewer) missing parts, I still order from them when they are the last resort.  I went to visit their site today and found that their “new” website only allows you to type in year, make, model, and engine information and then displays the matches for “your” vehicle.  Well… not quite, actually.

I was looking for parts for my 1936 C8 so I typed in my information and up came a water pump.  Whoa!  I have not seen anyone reproducing the 8 cylinder water pump for my C8.  I looked closely at their part, and sure enough, it is for the 6 cylinder version of my car, not the 8 cylinder version.

I would recommend that you not trust their new search engine results any more than you may have trusted their old find it yourself version.  The new search engine clearly lists parts as available for specific models, and the results are wrong.

Caveat Emptor.

Attached is an image of the incorrect water pump that came up when I listed parts for a 1936 Chrysler Airstream 8 cylinder.

Thanks Craig!  Don’t hold the Professor thing against me… I am not the typical professor.  🙂
