Back in the day I had never heard that. One of these with a hemi was a nice combination as it had more weight in the back to help put the power to the ground.

Unfortunately back then I was forced to grow up (my folks loved it there) in Portland OR. so there wasn't that much difference. 😊  The early Chargers looked big but weren't they built on the same chassis as the Coronets and Fury's?

Never much of a fastback design fan on larger bodied cars. Mustangs, Z-cars, etc are OK. 

Fairlanes, LTD's, Marlins, early Charger's, ...not so much.
