63 Riviera Radio Removal

I need to remove the Sonomatic AM radio from my 63 Riv. The service manual says to remove the "trim panel" to access the rear of the unit. After removing all the push-pull knobs and trim panel there is no access. Thru the glove box does not look good. Anybody done this before?

If I recall correctly you have to remove the small radio surround panel plus the larger one behind it, possibly need to remove or loosen the HVAC control trim. You should post this in the Riviera ROA forum for better response.
