Porsche 68
When I I got my 1925 dodge brothers woody it has been sitting around 30 years the battery was hooked up positive to positive negative to negative the mechanics handbook says positive ground what is correct
Reg Evans
Positive ground.
Mark Gregush
Yours would have been originally positive ground. Dodge went from negative to positive ground around 1921 when the horn button was moved from the door to steering column.
Porsche 68
Thanks guys! The car was starting and running fine with positive to positive hopefully it didn’t hurt anything will switch it back.
Mark Gregush
Will run either way. The starter/generator will self polarize. If you swap grounds, the amp meter wiring will need to be changed too.
Porsche 68
Thanks again Mark! Will check the wiring
22touring
I'm pretty sure that the Book of Instruction that came with my November, 1922 touring car no. 807012 says it is negative ground, yet it has the horn button on the steering column. As Doug has noted, no two DBs are the same!

Farmallregular
My original 1924 Book of Information shows positive ground, although somewhere along the line my 24 Touring Car had been changed to negative ground. Wish mine looked half that nice.... Keith
