mhuppertz Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Hello. 1989 Reatta, power brakes usually work for a while into a drive, then sooner or later I get the low brake pressure alarm and two footed, white knuckled breaking. I can't find the problem. Any guesses? If there is a way to find it through the CRT I haven't been able to figure out where to find that data. TIA
2seater Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 There is nothing in the crt that indicates brake performance or condition. The red and amber brake/abs warning lights are the indicators. Can you hear the brake pump running when the red light comes on? If not, you will need to determine if it is getting power when it fails to run. 1
padgett Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Going away and light turning on when hitting the brake is usually the accumulator. Spin off/on replacement.

Spin off/on replacement. Not the accumulator. This is electrical, like the pump itself it intermittent. I used to be able to find them at the U Pull and Pay yard all day long but not anymore.
DAVES89 Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 I had an issue similar to that on the Red. Turned out to be the pump and motor. Jim Finn may have one. [reatta60@gmail.com]
padgett Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 May need an assistant but may need to feel if pump is turning on. Light going off at start but coming on during a stop & going off a while later is probably not the pump. BYT both yellow ABS and red BRAKE lights should come on at same time.
DAVES89 Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 In my situation the pump was fine, but the motor burned up. Gave it to 2seater.
padgett Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Should have said that electrical can be the EBCM, relay, presssure switch, or motor (or frozen pump which will burn up motor). Are you able to see the blink codes. 12 is normal operation.
