TimFX
Hello all when I push down on the advance or throttle levers on the steering wheel, they both rotate at once. is there anywhere to tighten the housing so they move independently? Horn bezel also rotates. Horn works Any idea?
Sasha39
Can you give a few photos of the Clum switch at the base of the steering box, could be that the bracket holding the Clum switch in place has come loose. 28 Chrysler
There is a tube in a tube with grease. The grease may be getting hard and making them grab. You may have to wipe and re lube them. They come out of the wheel to the roof after they are loosen from the switch.
TimFX
View from top and back side I see the two pinch brackets with nut and bolt. They may need tightening

Tonz
Hi, the one on my 26 Chrysler 50 looks different to yours, it has the bakerlite levers up top and different levers at bottom. But it had the same issue. On my unit at the bottom of the steering box there is a brass fitting which wraps around each of the two actuator arms and with two small screws can be tightened to cause drag on each arm. With cleaning the two long tubes, light greasing and adjusting the screws the problem was eliminated. Another cause could be half way up along the tubes there is a split spring collet bush thing that sits in a shallow recess to stop the tubes rubbing. If it slips out of the recess during installation the tubes will bind. BTW, my credit goes to the guys who designed all this stuff, all those little control linkages, arms and levers work so well. Good luck.
JRA
I had similar issues in different cars, quite annoying. One day you have an issue with horn button, another day the issue is with lighting switch lever, then later you have issues with spark control lever and finally throttle lever problems show up. In my experience, it is a neverending problem, you fix one and create another. After failing in my initial approach, many times, unfortunately, the only and right solution I found was disassemble the entire mechamism from steering wheel to steering box, review inner tubes, lubricate everything, replace any worn bushings or parts, check any bents surfaces, replace wiring, in summary review and test everything. Do not forget to test the complete operation of the system when turning wheels too, so jack up front axle to do these final tests. It is a detailed and time consuming effort, lots of parallel adjustments, but it is well worthed. good luck! JRA
