Guest
But it's not about the car for sale. It's about this picture in the ad. I came across this on craigslist and while the car is certainly nothing to spend more than a half a minute on, this picture looks so odd to me, I had to share it here. This is a basically stock looking but very tired '66 Riviera. Why does this wheel house look so over sized? There has to be 8 inches from the front edge of that tire to the leading edge of the wheel opening molding. The radius above the opening looks correct. If the molding weren't there I'd swear the opening had been chopped larger. But the car has a set of correct looking Buick road wheels on it. Did Buick make a road wheel in 14 inch and perhaps that is what's bolted on here with a very small tire? The longer I stare at it, the weirder it looks. Maybe I've just been up too late again... Aaron65
I think it's just a really small tire. It's also missing a lug nut. Oh, the 14" Buick wheel looks different from the 15" wheel; I have a set of the 14s on my Skylark. The wheel in the picture looks like a 15". Oldsfan
More that one of those pictures looks odd. I think it's the lens that the seller used. Wheel opening looks stock.
kingrudy
Nice looking car from the outside, but interior looks shot and no pics of engine compartment. That having been said for 10k this could be a nice project.
GARY F
I guess it does not rain out there. No wipers.
JamesR
If it is a 15" wheel, my guess is it's a combination of lower profile tires and a weird camera lens. He uses a similar lens on other shots. The effect really perturbs me. Why do people think that making their car look like it belongs on a bad '70's album cover will help it sell? They do it to conceal defects, usually...which doesn't work.
