f.f.jones
How can you tell if this car has the 4-6-8 engine? Did all 1981 Cadillacs have it? https://www.motorbiscuit.com/the-impossibly-disastrous-4-6-8-cadillac-engine-of-1981/
Steve_Mack_CT
Clean and great colors. These seem to be getting more desirable but it seems with some effort, some clean examples out there. A lot of them were babied maybe? 4-6-8 might be a concern but not as much as rust. If you can live with hardtop vs. Convertible, 79 may be the year to get. But this car is pretty nice...
John_S_in_Penna
From what I have seen, cars of the 1980's like this Eldorado aren't nearly so prone to rust. By then, the factory did a better job of rust-proofing, and many cars in the north were sprayed inside with after-market rust-proofing too, such as Ziebart. Those soft velour seats look very comfortable! 6 hours ago, 6T-FinSeeker said:
Steve_Mack_CT
John I almost commented on the seats. One thing I always liked about my late model caddys was that Cadillac leather interior smell. Same as me friend's family Seville in 76, bosses new Eldo in 82 and just about any Caddy through the decades. But, the velour is durable and different. On these cars, the later over the top tufted leather seats would be my first choice, but I could get used to this. Car looks super clean. Definately on the list of $20k or less cars I would not mind trying out.
