1940 door weatherstriping

I am installing the weatherstrip on my 4 door and need to know if it should go along the bottom as well? one side of the rubber comes to a point and the other has a small bulb. which side goes toward the outside?  Thanks

Yes, the weather stripping goes around the bottom on all three of my 1940 Buicks.  I have a 61c phaeton that was restored by someone else and it goes around the bottom.  I also have a very original 46c convert and an original model 41 four door that spent its life in the desert and all have remnants of weather stripping on the bottom of the doors. 

 

The skinny pointed part of the seal stays closet to the door frame as opposed to the edges of the door.  Hope that helps, and you can message me if I need to improve my description for clarity.
