1931- 1935 Buick 60 series clutch disk

I checked a 1950 Buick parts catalog and they consolidated part numbers so any 31-35, 60 series clutch disk would work so I am widening the search.

The original number was 1241474, the expanded application number is 1285285.

Thanks

Hi Dave,

I am also looking for a clutch disk for a 1931 Buick 60 Series. I have looked everywhere and I can't find one, not even a core to rebuild. Have you had any luck finding one? Can you share any wisdom that might help me find one?

Thanks,

Austin

Austin, I had good luck with the ad here and in the Bugle. I ended up with one that was very worn and missing a spring. I had a spring from my old one and put it in but was unsure if it would stay. A clutch shop would be able to tell. You can have it for shipping, about $30 bucks, may be less.

Wow, Dave. I have been looking for a clutch disk for weeks and reaching out to you was a final desperate act. I would very much like to buy your extra clutch disk. I am unfamiliar with the process of exchanging addresses and money in a public forum so let me know how to proceed. Do you happen to have some extra motor mounts too?

I think you have the same car as us. Ours is a 1931 8-66-S. We have been trying to figure out why our wire rims have 5 equally spaced studs on the inside perimeter of the rim. All of the studs have decorative caps and we have no idea what they are for.

It is my father (Bill) and I (Austin) working on putting this car together and if there is anything we can help you with let us know.

Thank you,

Austin

My car is not as fancy, wood wheels and a rear mounted spare. Yours is very nice. Normally I would suggest we exchange private messages (pm's) on the forum but you may need more posts to be able to do it. So send me your contact info to my email doc81709@yahoo.com.

You and your dad have a nice car.

There are five studs spaced equally around the rim with little protective caps and not necessarily opposite of the valve stem. A friend also guessed that they might be for balance weights also. We have quite a few pre-war cars and we have not noticed these before. It is a bit of mystery for now. I will post it to the pre-war forum like you suggested.
