51UKChieftan Posted March 29, 2022 Share Posted March 29, 2022 Hi Guys, My oil pressure gauge has stopped reading so i am going check the obvious i.e. pressure to the gauge and from the pump. If these are ok where else should i be looking for the fault. There's not any info in the manual regards this as far as i can see. VW4X4 Posted March 29, 2022 Share Posted March 29, 2022 I found that old mechanical gauges get clogged with very small slugs of dry hard old oil. If you remove the line from the back of the gauge you can typically insert a paperclip in to the gauge that will clear the clog... ERIC Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

51UKChieftan Posted April 12, 2022 Author Share Posted April 12, 2022 Hi Guys, Oil pressure is good now. Cleaned lines and drained oil and filled with new. Whilst doing this i reset the tappets and have one that is ticking quite loudly so will re check this and possibly blow out the oil channels.
