Gary56
I have a 1939 graham paige and the oil level indicator does not work. Is there a way to fix it without pulling to oil pan?

ryan95
I'm not familiar with your engine, but the Continental engine I'm working on let's you pull it's whole oil indicator assembly out with two bolts. I would imagine that other engines are similar.

I would imagine that other engines are similar. Be careful with that. Franklins had King Seeley oil level indicators from 1931 on and they were bolted to the outside of the pan and also bolted/screwed to a bracket in the bottom of the pan. I'm sure other cars had the double fastening. So if it doesn't willingly come out don't force it. You'll be hard pressed to find another one.
Gary56
I've looked at it and it seems like it's just put in the block like a dip stick tube. I will get pictures Edited March 13, 2022 by Gary56 (see edit history)
Frank DuVal
1939 or 1929? They dropped the Paige name by 1939.
