A manifold is attached to the Stutz Engine. Looks pretty clean. I don't the history, its part of my husband collection. All I know it came out of San Jose, CA. in the early 2000. Check for the engine number at the location in the picture below and it may be easier to read. Sorry the picture is upside down, No matter how I load it that seems to be the only way it will attach. K8096 Posted February 23, 2022 Share Posted February 23, 2022 Yes, it would be a 1929 or later block as 1928 had the oil fill on the right side of the block. They moved it to the left side in 1929. The casting date is on the left of the engine block at the top, where it is hidden behind the hot-box of the intake manifold. The pair of cast reinforcing gussets from the back of the block to the top of the integral bell-housing were not a feature of engines earlier than M series.
