Ben Bruce aka First Born
I have a QuadraJet, part # 7028261 that I believe to be complete . Nothing appears broken. If I have checked properly this is for a 1968 Pontiac standard transmission. $50.00 plus s&h. From 76309. joe_padavano
Actually, the '8261 is for the OHC six Sprint motor with manual trans only. That's probably a pretty rare carb.
carbking
Agree with Joe, quite rare. Jon.
Ben Bruce aka First Born
Thanks. Is price in the ballpark? Ben
joe_padavano
The problem is that it is rare, but the market is small. There probably aren't many 1968 Sprint cars with manual trans left. I can't speak to Pontiac carbs, but an Olds Qjet core for rare musclecar applications will go for at least that much. Find the right forum for advertising it and you'll get a good price for it. Edit: in the 1968 model year there were 1,925 Tempests and 3,637 Firebirds built with the ZD code OHC Sprint motor and manual trans, so that's your target market. Ben Bruce aka First Born
Thanks, Joe. I would think it would "work" on a lot of engines. Perhaps someone will want it. If not, the boys can toss it when I am gone. IF they outlive me! Ben
carbking
Ben - the price is more than reasonable, IF you find a buyer. As Joe mentioned, I think potential buyers may be rarer than the carburetor. Sprint owners are few and far between today. Would guess that with absolutely no evidence that surviving stick Sprints outnumber dogmatic Sprints by a wide margin; but still, not a lot of either. Try posting on the Performance Years forums (anything Pontiac). Jon.
