A long long time ago, far far way

I removed these parts from my Airstream...... Now found cleaning out the basement, and I can not remember what they are and where they go.... Any ideas?    I bet most of these are missing form these cars..... note the special hardware...  its some type of rubber bumper that is adjustable. With the slot in the back of the thread, it must be in an area that is unacceptable, when installed.

I don’t have anything like that on mine. They look like hood bumpers that we supplied to the local body shops to me.

Pierre,

Do you think these were are after market parts?   Could be for all I know..

I think those are bumpers or cushions that fit into both sides of the rad cradle to limit sideways motion of the rad core. Mine have lost their rubber caps so I will have to create new ones and glue them on.  Don't throw them away! Look for threaded holes on the sides of  rad support just below the cross member that's riveted midway up across the front of the rad.  Hope this helps.

Jim,

So, these really are part of the factory 36 Chrysler Airstream! Thanks for the heads up.    I went and looked at my cars and sure enough, one of them is missing these.   Not sure how I'm going to find room the get them in there...  Details like this, are what separate the pros  from the amateurs.

Thanks

On my car, I looking in from the fender. The large bracket that supports the fender bold the rad. support in two places, (top and bottom).  Between these mounting points you can see a small threaded hole.  One car has the threads protruding with a slot cut in it.  The other car is just has a threaded hole, so this car the bumpers are missing.  I bet a lot of these are missing.  The question is are they really needed?
