1937hd45
Walt, Saw this and it reminded me of your story of driving into NYC with Austie in the 1931 Lincoln. I think there is some artistic license in the illustration, a 2022 dome light couldn't produce that much light. Bob
Walt G
Thanks Bob! Appreciate this, yes the dome light in the image has about the candle power of a WWII searchlight to spot enemy aircraft !! ( I know what those search lights were like because they used to shine them in the sky from Belmont Park race track which is my neighbor when I was growing up in the 1950s - they stoped doing it I guess because of the possibility of blinding the pilots who were flying air liners to JFK airport) We didn't see much of the road in Austin's Lincoln dual cowl on our trips home from Manhattan after a night of live jazz at Jimmy Ryan's Dixieland club . the headlamps on the car were fine but the reflectors needed to be resilvered to be a bit more effective. Well a lot more effective.
