Dsmrossi Posted January 30, 2022 Share Posted January 30, 2022 Finally found a 6v starter that was rebuild for my 1927 pickup. I’m trying to install it and it feels like it’s too big. The nose cone of the start feels like it’s hitting the backside of the transmission bell housing when I’m installing it. The flange looks correct. robert b Posted January 30, 2022 Share Posted January 30, 2022 The nose cone is for the 6 cylinder cars and is longer than the 4 cylinder cars , the in sides are the same just the nose cone is shorter . I believe the casting on them ends in 050 The one that I have measures 3 inches from the mounting flange to the end of the cone and the number is 18582.
