Dan Obele 1916 Simplex Crane Model 5

I am still working on the ownership history of my Simplex Crane Model 5 #2246.  As far as I know Dan Obele owned this car from sometime in the 1980's to the 1990's.  I have no written record of his ownership. 

 

I would really appreciate any comments from members who knew him. 

Such as:

Did he tour with this vehicle?

Was it operable when he owned it?

Pictures from when he owned it.

Names of any party who might know more.

Is this the same car?  Photo found in the HCCA Gazette March-April 1966.

I just spoke with Mike Deangelis, Ralph's Son, and he is OK with you phoning him to discuss the Simplex.  PM me and I will give you his phone #.  He is still very much involved in the old car hobby.

No, the car on the left is not my car.  It is a photograph of a 1915 (?) Simplex Crane Model 5 Coupe #2210 that was taken on July 22, 1951.  The car on the left is a coupe, mine is an enclosed drive formal limousine. The Victoria is #2308.
