carbking
Car that according to picture, bought new by ancestor. Wished they had said what it was. Any ideas? According to family lore, Nash was popular with the family. And someone once purchased a Pierce Arrow. Jon. lump
Jon, As far as my limited knowledge goes, it could be a 1928 OR a 1929. The only outside-visible-difference I personally know about between the two years is the color of the steering wheel (red rubber for 1928, and black rubber for 1929). Of course, there were early production '28 Model A cars, known as the "Model A-R," but the only differences on those models (again, based on my own limited knowledge), would not be visible on the outside. Cheers.
ericmac
I think it is a '29. I too have limited knowledge about these cars but I don't think the '28s had outside door handles. That may have only been the Phaeton bodystyle. A Model A expert would know. Neat photo and great car there.
carbking
1928 or 1929 is close enough to label the picture in our family history; thanks to all of you. Jon.
1937hd45
The outside door handles were NOT on 1928 Ford open bodied cars, that is why this is a 1929. Bob Edited January 9, 2022 by 1937hd45 (see edit history)
parrts
Earlier hoods, wheels and lug nuts were different, too. Probably other "external" difference on the "AR" cars.
