'51 Buick door weatherstrip question

Kestrel

Recommended Posts

1. Has anyone out there replaced their front door weatherstrip seals ? I'm curious before I remove and replace an entire new kit (from Steele Rubber), any tips or unforeseen complications ? I don't want to remove the doors but worry about getting a clean surface where it joins the inner cowl area. It looks like a skinned knuckle job in there especially around the front and bellows seal. 😝

2. 2 kits are available, depending on whether an early or late 1951 car. Is there a way to narrow down the month ??

My VIN is 16 254 767

Body No. G 25258 (the 8 is hard to ascertain & might be another number).

Thanks Guys !
