Buick skylark

I am looking for upper control arm bushings on a 65 skylark , the screw in type , nobody has them.  Actually just the rubber part needs replacing.

I believe "Rare Parts" has them, but I actually just bought new loaded upper control arms for a '69 GTO from Summit a few years ago.  The entire control arm with ball joint cost about the same as a bushing and shaft kit for a '65 Skylark.

It's possible to replace the complete upper arm assembly with the later style that uses the common rubber bushings, probably for less money than the Rare Parts kit, though I understand the desire to keep it optically correct. Olds made this swap at the factory for the 1965 model year.

Be sure to have the weight of the car on the wheels when you torque the nuts on the ends of the cross shaft (and also when you torque the bolts through the LCA bushings if you replace those). This clamps the rubber bushings at ride height so they aren't stressed.
