Harry Tate Sells a Car

Harry Tate was a British music hall star who reminds me of W.C. Fields. Here is rare film of one of his "motoring" sketches. You must listen carefully!

 

"What is this, sir?"

"Why it is a spare tire. In case you have a bad tire there, you've got one here as well."

 

"How far will it get on a half-tank of gas?"

"Oh, about half as much as a full tank."

 

"Is there anything wrong with it?"

"No. It just won't go."

"Have you ever tried it downhill, sir?"

"No, I never thought of that. You're a genius, sir."
