Axial_Flow
Hello, I am looking at the second digit/number on the serial number plate, it appears to be capital "I" with a top and bottom line (think what an I-beam looks like) Should this really be a number 'one' or is it really a capital letter I? Gary_Ash
Studebaker used I for 1 for many years.
SC38dls
My 38 is as Gary states above so I would guess your 41 would be the same.
8E45E
It is a well-known fact that Studebaker used the Roman numeral I in place of the Arabic #1 digit on the majority of their Serial Number plates: https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forum/your-studebaker-forum/general-studebaker-specific-discussion/96070-production-order-affidavit-re-numeral-1-in-march-tw https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forum/your-studebaker-forum/tech-talk/71672-vin-number Craig
