Cadillac built their cars to run on unleaded gas starting in 1971. Good to hear the engine rebuild didn't change that!

Tan top looks odd with yellow paint, driver's door looks like it might be sagging a bit, an upgraded steering wheel cover would help, but looks like a decent car, and not too bad an asking price. Maybe $8-9K?

With current high gas prices, especially for our

western friends, be aware of gas mileage:

I had a '73 Eldorado convertible, since sold.

It achieved 6 m.p.g. around town and 10 on the

highway, for a consistent average of only 8 m.p.g.!

I later read Consumer Guide's 1973 review of new cars,

and they achieved the same 8 m.p.g. that I did.

A fill-up of the 27-gallon tank was typically 25 gallons.

That was good for only 200 miles.

These cars are especially fun when gas is affordable!

Thinking about selling my 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Fleetwood. The car is equipped with the original 500cui motor and everything you could order in 73 (light sentinel, power antenna, 8-track, 6-way power seat etc. etc. This Cadi was high high end in 73!). Floor panels, trunk, frame, and rocker panels are super solid. Body is straight and everything works as it should (lights, wipers, gauges, radio, 8-track, seats, windows, clock etc.). It has about 102t miles on it. Motor was rebuilt about 8t miles ago. The car is turn-key and ready to go. I drive it almost every day to work and to car shows. It was repainted in the early 90s in the original color Harvest Yellow (repaint is about 30 years old now and shows some wear but is still very presentable). Car is all stock. Original convertible top has no tears and is tight (has glass window with rear defroster). Interior is very nice and comfortable (no rips in the seats, no cracks in the dashboard). Car runs great and is a lot of fun to drive. Previous owner had it for over 35 years and took very good care of it.
In the last 2 years, the following was replaced or rebuilt:

  • New 4 core radiator
  • Batterie
  • Electric Ignition
  • Front end
  • Air shocks rear
  • Fuel Tank
  • Brakes

I have a clean NJ title in my name. Car comes with shop manual, owner’s manual, window sticker, indoor cover and parade boot. Is it perfect? No. It’s a great, well maintained, solid cruiser that you can enjoy every day and drive as is. To make it perfect, it would need a paintjob. I still get a lot of compliments for the car as it is. I`m not desperate to sell it but I would let it go for the right price to someone that appreciates the car as I do. I ask you kindly, please do not send me ridicules offers. I am also not interested in any trades. If the post is still up, the car is still for sale so please do not ask. Thanks a lot for your time and interest.

The 1973 Eldorados are nicely styled, with the one-year-only

taillights.  I really like the yellow color, and this one would appeal

to me more if it were in excellent condition.  I used to have a brown

'73 Eldorado convertible.

Note to any prospective buyer:  These achieve only 6 m.p.g. around

town, and 10 m.p.g. on the open highway, for an average of 8.

Mine did, and a review of 1973 new cars registered the same.

A 25-gallon fill-up of the 27-gallon tank was good for 200 miles.

Not so good when gasoline is expensive!

I used to get about 12 mpg in my 71 Eldo on the highway, but if you goose it,, you could literally see the gas gauge move. Not a daily driver, to be sure.

Flipper is incredibly optimistic on the asking price.
