68 Fury VIP seats

[1966 Calais]

Hi, did the 68 Fury VIP have optional dual power front cloth seats?

 

How can you tell if it has sure track rear end

Assuming it has the ubiquitous Mopar 8-3/4 rear axle. there will be a round metal tag on one of the bolts that holds the center section in. Round like a washer. It says "use sure-grip lube" if you can still read it. Don't confuse it with the rectangular tag. The rectangular one tells you the gear ratio and they all have it, not just sure-grips.

 

Or, block the car up so it can't roll, jack up one back wheel, put the car in neutral, and try to turn the jacked up wheel by hand. If it won't turn you have sure-grip. If it spins easily, you don't.

The data plate has the number 48 under axle (AX). It is my understanding the #8 represents Sure Grip rear end. 

 

Problem with options on these  cars, you need a dealer facts book to sort them out, because the showroom brochure is very thin on listing the available options, other than the most obvious like AC. 

 

The imperial Club has a nice web site than offers a lot of literature. Is there a resource for Plymouth on line?

The sure grip is  the "X", will be on the third row from the bottom on the code plate.

Seat options are on the 6th and 7th row. (again from the bottom) Will be "A" for bucket seat accessories , "B" indicates the front seat options. Trouble is, the book I am using doesn't tell what the seat options are.

Pretty sure you could get your answers at the "AllPar" site.

So this is row 7 and 6 from the data plate.

That's the way I understand it.

I don't have a real tag right handy but the picture in this book even shows the line numbers at the left starting with "1" at the bottom running upwards to "7".
