NC-car-guy
The tail lights are my favorite thing on the 1960 edsel.
bryankazmer
Love those taillights too. I don't think body-colored valve covers and air cleaner were an option.

They weren't Just standard color for a 1960 Edsel 292 engine. Seller mentions "Rare Deluxe Interior" on his sign. Its not. This is the base-standard Pebble cloth design. supported by the 58A code on the data plate. There was a (deluxe) Champagne cloth interior if equipped it would have a 58B body code. Car was originally single tone the white roof was added. Clean car, but common by 60 Edsel standards. avgwarhawk
Nice example. The rear is shall I say different. The front end however is a nice design. Overall, a very cool car.
EmTee
It's interesting to see how Ford 'tweaked' the 1960 Ford design to distinguish the Edsel. I can't help but think they consulted with Virgil Exner...

I can't help but think they consulted with Virgil Exner... The 60 Edsel was 100% a contractual obligation car. Edsel Dealer agreements signed in 1956-7 guaranteed dealers that there would be at least 3 model years of production. Introduced September 4, 1957, the Edsel disaster was known by Christmas 1957. Many dealers folded and resigned their franchises during calendar 1958. Ford knew that they wanted to pull the plug ASAP. Momentum saw the release of 1959 models. During calendar 1959, Ford representatives were sent out to do all they could to buy out the contracts of Edsel dealers. They paid cash for the parts (to be destroyed) they paid cash for the value of the signage and cash to cover any property improvements. They would even offer a Lincoln-Mercury franchise if it was geographically available. However there were a FEW Edsel dealers that were actually doing OK and didn't want to give it up. Ford kept upping the offers and adding more arm twisting. By introduction time for the 1960 models there were still a few Edsel dealers. Ford was forced to make a 1960 Edsel. The buyouts continued and as soon as they could legally stop producing Edsels, they did. Officially the last one rolled off the line November 19, 1959 but there may have been 1-2 others assembled after that, from parts still left in the plant. "Success has many fathers, failure is an orphan" The 60 Edsel wasn't even an orphan, its parents completely denied any connections. The "styled by committee" wouldn't even claim it! Den41Buick
Really? Fuzzy dice. Just brought the value down in my opinion.
