Rockable
I am in the process of reassembling my 49 Buick Sedanette but I don't know what the fender skirt seal should look like. Can anyone give me a picture of the cross section and tell me how it is attached? Also, I will be soon reassembling door fuzzy channels. Most of my clips are unusable. Can I just glue that cloth covered U Channel to the door channels? Thanks
Pete Phillips
I just glue mine, or you can use a very small, very short, sheet metal screw with a counter-sunk head and drill holes for those. The fender skirt seal looks a lot like the black fender welting, which is what I use.
Rockable
So, the welting will work and it actually seals up the gap between the skirt edge and the edge of the well for the skirt? Mine had a rectangular flat piece of rubber sandwiched between the skirt and the flange of the well but I didnt think that was right. Does anyone sell the reproduction seal? Or is 49 different from all others like so many other parts? Thanks
gdmn852
Hello here is a picture of the skirt area , the rubber seal is held on by clips spot welded to the rear fenders. I think I bought it from Bobs and it was a 49 only part .
