Peter Gariepy
As of today I'm testing a new feature I'm considering rolling into this forum. A photo posting area. I'd like everyone to take it for a test drive and give me your feedback.Find it at the following URL:http://www.aaca.org/photopost/index.phpThanks,Peter
Dave@Moon
Peter, I just sent in a photo. It uploaded in less than one second. I do have a high speed DSL line, but that was very fast. Did you get it?

JanK
I just uploaded pictures of our cars. The process is simple and quick. Now I can't wait to see what other cars start to show up in this area. Jan K.Wis Region

cmj
How do you post a photo to this site?
Guest BruceW
At the top right of the frame containing the pictures are the selections "Home", "Profile", "Upload Photos", and "Logout". Click on Upload Photos and a screen will appear where you fill in the information and select the photo you want to upload from your system. Once you get there it is self explanatory. Peter.....how long does it take for the photos to receive approval?
Peter Gariepy
i'll review and approve them at least 5-6 times a week, and probably more often than that. My get some moderators just for this too.Peter
Amphicar BUYER
Nice addition! Does this fall under "bells" or "whistles"?

Guest boettger
Great new Idea!Peter, if you need some help moderating this one, let me know.I can see where a photo posting foroum might need some keeping track of!
Guest BruceW
Sky,You may have to login in to the Picture Gallery first (its on the top right of the frame). The login screen came up when first I tried and I went ahead logged in.. I just thought maybe I had accidently cleared the cookies out and I wasn't logged into the DF. But evidently you also have to login to the picture gallery (at least the first time). I noticed this when I tried accessing it from a different computer. After you log in you will see the links I mentioned including the "Upload Photos".
Guest stude8
When everyone catches on to this you'll need a bigger hard drive. I think an index system will show its importance soon, there is a wide range of subjects already. Sude8

Peter Gariepy
Folks,i'm still learning how to administer this new feature, so you may see some funkyness. Please be patient.Peter
Dave@Moon
Peter,A great addition, thanks! Have you seen the gallery of cars that Hemmings.com wound up with? Do you think you'll have room for that kind of storage? Also, I noticed that when I rest my cursor on top of any photo I get the original name of that photo file and number in the poster's computer. You may want to suggest that people watch what names they give files for postings. You could wind up with stuff on there that wasn't meant for public consumption (i.e. myf##kingwreck8JPG, etc.).
Dave@Moon
Also, I just found out that there's a limit to title size. I uploaded a photo of my TR6 and the title was so long only the T made it. No, I don't own any Model T's. Sorry.
1937hd45
Nice feature Peter, Wish I could figure out how to post a photo. You need to explain where that section is hidden.

WCraigH
One must login TWICE: once to the general chat room and again at the member's gallery. After the 2nd login, one then sees "Upload photos" option at the upper right.Peter: This is confusing because one already thinks one is logged in.
RoadsterRich
Peter,Awesome feature. I sure hope it works out. Personally I think it is a great addition, hope others agree, and use it as well. What a great way to check each others toys (and more!) out. Not to mention the research value when looking for a picture of a particular car. The potential uses are infinite. As always, thanks for all your time, hard work, and patience!Rich

Guest imported_PackardV8
logging in twice is not a problem. i just didnt know.Is there some reason i can not use 'Unregistered-User PackardV8' as my screen name??? Guest Skyking
Tried to post photos from my file but a message said the photo was too large. I took them with my digital camera. Where are they getting them from?

Guest HeyPop
Great addition Peter! After seeing some of the 'non' automotive pictures sent into the Aoohga site, you will definitly need to establish some guidelines and monitors. Great to be able to share photos and 'finds' with the other folks.

Guest HeyPop
Peter... Please check the picture in "My Driver" under the beta site. It shows the same pic but 2 different file sizes. One 80+k and another 100+k of the same shot. Did I attach 2 pictures of the same thing? If so, delete the one over 100K in size... sorry.
