Guest
Not much to go on and a strangely cropped picture. https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/cto/d/vista-1938-cadilac/7369496939.html Rough original condition has not operated for a few years. It ran a few years ago. Clean title.call Jim 760 519 8258

BucketofBolts
Appears fishy. Does not pass the smell test.
Guest
Seller added pics. Driver's door jamb looks to have a state issued VIN tag applied.
supercub
Looks like someone scrapped it and the scrap metal guy is looking to cash in. One of the bennies of the job, kind of a 401K of the trade.
Guest
I think you're right supercub. Anyone know what model Cadillac this is?
58L-Y8
Its a Model 60, Style No. 38-6119 five passenger sedan, the base Cadillac sedan for $1,775. They produced 1,295 of these sedans with the standard Fisher B-Body shared with other GM makes from Pontiac Eight through Cadillac 60.
The 55er
That photo was cropped by the seller as a deterrent to classic car thieves that seek out places like this in the middle of the night. There might be some familiar landmark or signage visible in the background that would give away its top secret location. Seller is afraid he'll arrive at his shop some morning and his prized $5000 Cadillac will be gone. IMO the odds are better that all the scrap metal will be stolen and the midnight visitors will leave the Cadillac behind.
supercub
I like style of the Caddy. The grill gives it a bold stature.
BucketofBolts
Seems like some conspiracy as to the cars made in 1938. Did some executives meet in some hidden location and agree to have most all the car manufacturers agree to have the bustle back trunks for the 1938 sedans? Ford GM & Chrysler were all in Detroit The design engineers drunk at the same bar (or maybe not) 😉😉
Bloo
Try a road trip in a car like this. Even with the trunk it isn't enough space, at least if you plan to have passengers in the back. in 1936 or so, several makes offered them both ways. It's no surprise which design won out.
