Buick35
I'll check out my 35s armrest later today and let you know if I see anything.Greg
Gary W
The '37 Buick has a "panel" on the underside held in by two screws. Once you remove this panel, you have access to the larger screws that hold the armrest to the door. You don't have to remove the door panel. I hope your '34 is the same! Buick35
I looked at my 35 40 series and it looks like the arm rest has two flat ears that push down into two vertical slots.Unfortunately my door panel fabric covers the two ears. The fabric would have to be peeled back to gain access to any fasteners.Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.Greg. Buick35
Looks similar to mine, like I say it should pull straight up to remove it from the brackets,I'm not sure how to access the fasteners though,if any. Frank Wilkie
I removed the two screws below the arm rest. Then I tried to pull it up. Got a little movement on one side but it still was very tight and didn't want to give up..
Buick35
I noticed on my passenger side one I had some up and down movement toward the front of the armrest with out removing any fasteners.Maybe one is missing? I hope you get it.Greg
Buick35
Did you ever get your arm rest off?If so let me know how In case I ever need to.Thanks.Greg
Frank Wilkie
No,, I messed with it for several days, doing a little force but I didn't want to screw up anything... I noticed the two screws were machine thread so that tells me they are going into the two arms that appear to slide down. I am thinking that the arms that they screw into have a ridge on them and they won't slide up through the metal fixed holding slots in the door. I've used a block of wood under the arm rest and using a wood mallet tapping upward.. Nothing happening..
Frank Wilkie
Here is a picture of a door with the upholstery off. I took the picture from market place of a 1934 60 series coupe. You can see the plate that the two screws go through..
