The Brush was a reliable and rugged 1-cylinder Runabout. Designed by Alanson Brush a self-taught engineer who had worked with Henry Leland at Oldsmobile and Cadillac. It was Mr. Brush who designed the engine for the Cadillac Model M. The Brush was built with pride in Detroit. One famous exploit of the Brush occurred when the Abernathy brothers drove their newly purchased Brush from New York City home to Oklahoma City. The brothers were ages 6 and 10! The “Little Cowboys from Oklahoma” became celebrities along the way with newspapers covering their progress. Finished in Blue and Red with White Coach Stripe. Red Leather seating. Black Convertible Top. Lots of Brass Trim E&J Headlamps, Side Lamps and Tail lamp. Carbide Generator. Folding Brass Windshield. Powered by the Brush 62 Cubic Inch 1-cylinder engine which was rated at 7 horsepower. Two forward speeds with reverse. Chain drive rear axle. Wood axles. Coil Spring Suspension.
