Dear friends

If any of you need to replace the bearing and clutch disc on a 1930 Chrysler Model 66 (could be for other models) You can buy a Ford Model A disc and bearing it is the same.

Dear Fermato,

The original Model A Ford clutch throw- out bearing and the collar have 2  diamentions to each piece..

The release collar is steped and the inner portion of the collar the bearing grips to and bottoms out at is,

approx.2.065 O.D.

The outer  portion of the step of this collar(clutch side)  is a bit smaller and so you can get the bearing half on( the right way) easily with bare hands.

The throw-out bearing it self has  also 2 diameters ,different on each side.

The I.D. portion of the bearing on the side of the pressure plate fingers is several thousands larger and does not grip the collar really at all..it's like 2.75-80 I.D.

So the  bearing ,when used on a Model A collar will slip on completely,  the wrong way around easily.

The right way..it needs a to be pressed or carefully pushed or evenly bashed ! on the last half way.

A new Model A throw out bearing may have one I.D. diameter.

Confused?   I am!

Nothing new to me.

When I bought the bearing I show the older to the dealer and he told me  it is Ford Model a bearing

I explore in Internet to check this I found the same size  only 1.2 mm less in the external diameter
