grubin
Can anyone recommend a transmission shop in the Albany / Glens Falls NY area to service and diagnose a transmission issue. My 1956 Thunderbird automatic ….restoration project is coming to an end. Totally rebuilt drive train as per previous owner…Transmission will shift in reverse / First and second perfectly. Issue is 2-3. Will not shift to three for speeds over 45mph..Possible governor or stuck valve. Seeking a trusted shop to repair Any suggestion would be much appreciated
JRHaelig
It's a little further away, but Fisher Transmission in Fairfield, NJ did my '63 Lincoln, which is half an oddball box, and they were quite familiar and did a fine job.
ChazA
I know 120 miles away or so, but Butch's Transmissions in Syracuse may be able to help if you can't find anyone. They just rebuilt my transmission in my '66 Caddy. They also did my '66 Nova a decade ago. They know the old cars. Chuck

misterc9
The old Fordomatic normally starts in second then shifts to third. You are getting no upshifts at all ?
