plymouthcranbrook
I don't believe I have ever seen someone ask $23,000 for a 61 Dodge before. It is nice but...
JamesR
I agree, it is in nice shape, judging from the photos. We had a '61 Dodge when I was a kid, but this question hasn't occurred to me until now: did Dodge have any sort of performance package in '61? I don't recall ever seeing one. I know Chevy started the Super Sport with a 409 in '61. Ford had a Galaxie with a 400+ hp three deuce FE. I don't recall seeing or hearing about a performance model '61 Plymouth, either. What engine would they have had in such a car?
The 55er
A list of 1960-1961 Plymouth performance engines which was almost the same for both years. 1

JamesR: The Standard Catalogue of American Cars 1946-1975 list optional performance engines beyond the standard 318 for 1961 as follows: "The D-500 and Super D-500 V-8 engines featured...two Carter AFB four barrel carburetors mounted on 30 inch long intake manifolds" The famous cross-ram set-up. Dart D-500, 361 ci, 4bbls, 305 hp. 9.0:1 c.r. Polara D-500, 383 ci, 4bbls., 325 hp. 10.0:1 c.r. Polara Ram-Induction D-500, 383 ci, Carter AFB 3084S 4bbls., 330 hp. 10.0:1 c.r. Super D-500, 413 ci, Carter AFB 3108S 4bbls., 350 hp. 10.0:1 c.r. Super Ram-Tuned D-500, 413 ci, Carter AFB 3048S 4bbls., 375 hp. 10.0:1 c.r. So, the trick is to find a '61 Dart Seneca two door sedan with any of these D-500 optional engines and manual shift.

Which might in fact then be worth $23,000
