Model T Church

Recommended Posts

Photo is dated Wednesday August 9, 1922. This is the Rev. Bramford Clarke in his motorized church . It does not note the location but in the back ground it seems to be in a city , note the water tower .

Not sure about the dents - it is not in the paper that the print was made on that is smooth so is definitely in the body of the "building".

David, the Reverend was a cross man - he probably was looking for a P-A travelodge trailer to use as a portable church/chapel and a long wheel base P-A limousine to use as a confessional , rectory  etc. but was told by his parish that was totally unacceptable as the P-A had an undraped fellow as a car mascot and that symbol would be just to overwhelming for the ladies of his flock of any age, and could possibly promote impure thoughts . I know this for a fact because two fellows who regularly give wise words of wisdom here ( one from Ca. the other from Fla. - New England ) told me that they both have P-A factory records stating that that was the situation . 🤨

A lot of those dents look like they came from the inside...

Those attending services throwing coins into the collection plate and missing badly.  The coin would ricochet off one of the walls and be caught by the fellow in the photograph. And that is the truth .  Yes indeed it is, maybe , sort of....................🧐

I wonder what caused the long patches of dents from the inside across the front, on the door and behind it.

Discontented alter boys?
