I have bought simple tune-up items and they were fine..

Are you buying from them rebuilt stuff outright  or are they repairing/rebuilding your parts?

They have been around a while..heard nothing bad or good.

I've never dealt with Hagen's. Unless they are relining your existing shoes, the only source of new replacement shoes for the rear of these cars is Centric. Yeah, they're imported, but so are the brand names today.

Fronts are Centric 112.02450, about $17 a set at RockAuto for riveted linings.

Rears are Centric 111.01960, about $22 at RockAuto for bonded linings (riveted are not available).

You might want to ask Hagens why their shoes are 3X the price and whether or not they are imported.

Note that if you do decide to get these from RockAuto, do NOT rely on their on-line catalog. Order by part number. Their catalog incorrectly shows a 12x2 brake shoe option for the Skylark. Obviously that is incorrect.

RockAuto also sells the wheel cylinder rebuild kits. Raybestos WK21 for the front and WK249 for the rear, about $2 apiece. Again, substantially less expensive than Hagen's $10 and $8 kits (respectively). RockAuto also sells the hoses for substantially less.

Napa has the master cylinder rebuild kits for under $20. I used one of these on my 62 F85.

Kanter has new (imported) M/C, wheel cylinders, and drums. I've had very good results with Kanter.

Sorry to say but Hagan Auto Parts if out of business.   Darrell has sold the building and is wholesaling his inventory to specialists in the hobby.   I know this to be true,  as Olson Gasket recently purchased their gasket inventory and I have purchased their obsolete ignition parts.

Sad to hear. I had my Graham wheel cylinders and master cylinder sleeved by them several years ago. Bought lots of small parts from them also.

I had Automotive Manufactures Inc. reline my shoes. They are in Richmond, VA. Jeff Duty is the owner. They also rebuild water pumps and other parts.

Thank you all, Hagen's Aura Parts is indeed out of business, I went to their Facebook page and this is what is there.

I also thank you for the other options for finding the parts. I need for my 62 Skylark.

  • 2 weeks later...

I had good experience with them on hard to find ignition parts for my Marmon and Studebaker, as other parts too. Very good support and interest from them on searching for parts I needed. Very unfortunate loss.
