Recommendations for Locating Seat Cover for 41 Special

Hello all,

Now that car show season is here and I’ve been driving the 41 special a bit more, I thought it would be a good idea to find a seat cover to keep from wearing out my front seat. Looking for a good fitting cloth cover but all my searches come up short for a 1941 vehicle. Those that do don’t seem to look correct. If anyone knows of a jobber who sells a slip on cover let me know. Nothing exotic, just a decent slip on that fits tight.

Period seat covers show up periodically on eBay. I think I have a set I bought years ago for my '41 Century.

As a stop gap, I've been using an old gray wool blanket on my 1949 Super's front seat. It had tattered dealer-optioned green nylon covers when I got the car in 1978. Gray colored cotton bath towels also work in a pinch. I use them on my 1939 Roadmaster. I don't want to sweat out or stain the nice repro upholstery kit. Both are easy to remove for shows.

There are many car seat pads or cushions that may be suitable. The ones designed for accommodating a dog in the back seat look like they would also fit the front bench seat of a Buick. My GI wool blanket has been a standby but it looks like a GI blanket. Going to Carlisle this weekend maybe I can find something there or at Hershey.
