hidden_hunter
Cool little museum of almost exclusive prewar cars about 50 miles from Sydney in Wollongong Most of them are members cars so pretty much all of them are in running condition (which is a nice change from most of the museums where it would be a big task to recommission them) Well worth the visit if anyone else finds themselves in the region https://www.australianmotorlifemuseum.com

Apparently it’s a local body with (from memory) a Lycoming engine - had a unique suspension design they tried to sell The volunteers were really good and willing to open up most things 30 minutes ago, Ozstatman said: Away from lockdown? Ozstatman
Some information on the Summit - The Summit was built in Alexandria, an inner southern suburb of Sydney, roughly half way between the city and the airport. The story on the emergence of the Summit is interesting. The Summit is a smaller, lighter, 4 cylinder (Lycoming engined) car than its two Sydney based six cylinder competitors. The Summit was the product of a two part, but concurrent, exercise. Plan “A” was to sell the Australian Patented Acme Spring system to British and American car manufacturers. If Plan “A” failed then Plan “B” was to source American components to assemble their own car, the “Summit”, to utilise the patented Acme Springing system. And apologies 😪 for misidentifing initially as a Star(another Aussie built car) now fixed.
