windmillnut
Hello, I have a 1982 Buick Riviera and the pump that pressurizes the air suspension in the back stopped. Does anyone have an opinion if it should be fixed or should I just add some air shocks that I can pump up manually when the need arises. Regards, Brian
RivNut
I had the same problem on one of my 79-85 Riviera’s. The problem is usually the height sensor that is connected to the frame and the rear trailing arm. Those sensors are unobtainium. I hooked a manual switch to the compressor and that worked; nice because the switch could be activated when I was driving. But the best cure that I found was to replace the rear springs with cargo spring and install conventional shocks. The ride is the same. I’ve since done the same thing to my Roadmaster Estate wagon. I’d do it again to any air ride factory unit.
