prewar40
A friend of mine has this and I don't know how it was used or when it came out any ideas?
Guest
Hmmm? While slightly larger, it appears to be very similar in design to the cast iron ship door stops that were popular in the 1940's and 50's. Some were elaborately painted, some were single color.
Mark Wetherbee
I believe the round one was part of a radio speaker, I’ve also seen television lamps in the ship form as well as the door stops above which I have two that hold my back doors open on nice days... They were decorative house items with no dealership connections whatsoever. Edited May 13, 2021 by Mark Wetherbee (see edit history)
studeboy
My grandparents had one just like it for a front door stop.
prewar40
Thanks to all of you for letting me know what it is; you are right it is a door stop. After all anybody can see automobilia in a door stop.
28 Chrysler
A Plymouth owner may want it, it would make a nice conversation piece.
