Buick Gardens Pick Your Own - 1953,54,55,56 Buick Parts/Cars

Recommended Posts

Time to start cleaning up the Gardens, everything needs to go by the end of this summer. Running it here first then on to Facebook and CL. You pull, I've no time nor desire to pull and too many aches and pains even if I wanted to. Some of the cars have been picked over but some were running when parked and have good engines and hard to source parts such as power antenna, Selectronic radios, power brakes, windows and seats. One 322 even has a set of export/adjustable rockers.  Bring tools. Cordless impact wrench, sawzall and a  grinder come in handy. Oh and plenty of PBBlaster.    Located just outside of Athens, Georgia, just Google Buick Gardens for directions. PM me or email at 1954buickatgmaildotcom

EDIT)

Since first making this post I've joined Facebook pretty much for the sole purpose of selling all my Buick stuff and gotta say, having pretty good success. I was trying to cross post to here for awhile but really not seeing any interest from here on anything. Sooo, let me do this. While I joined several FB Buick groups there, I am only posting parts and cars on one, the 54,55,56 Buick Enthusiasts group.  If you wish to check in on it to view my sell ads simply go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/2525571274

and search Lamar Brown

I suspect there may be other performance  “export” parts in the engine as this Roadmaster also has an oddball 3.9 rear end in it. Would like to sell engine as is which I apparently forgot to get picture of, it is missing the intake and carb, won’t turn haven’t tried to break loose

The two following Roadmasters were both running and driving cars when I purchased them. They are for sale whole and will not be parted out at this time. If no interest is shown in purchasing them as is I will part them out also.

This Roadmaster was pulled from a warehouse in Pennsylvania some twenty years ago and still had a folded newspaper from 1974 laying on the front seat. Story was that two brothers who were in an electrical business got into a big fight about the company and just closed the doors then both mysteriously died. I think I have a title, will look see. I drove it around our neighborhood before parking it and have kept cylinders juiced every year or so since. It has power steering, brakes, antenna, windows and a Selectronic foot controlled radio. The paper wrapped bumpers and sweepspear trim and other parts inside it do not come with the car but can be purchased separately. Asking $1400

This Roadmaster had been "fixed up" including some "overhaul work" on the engine by a girls father and given to her in her senior year of high school in Muscogee County, Georgia back in 1994.  She was caught riding some "undesirables" around in it, he took it away from her and parked it in a pasture. It ran and drove good before I parked it under this cedar tree. I've kept juice in it's cylinders also. It has been being parted out but all the running gear including power brakes and steering are still intact. This is definitely a parts car as the floors are gone. Lots of good parts though, including complete engine w/breather, Dynaflow, power brakes incl booster and vac pump, power steering, decent steering wheel, Sonomatic radio and I have never even been in the trunk.  Asking $750 All miscellaneous parts in front and back seat go with.  I would love to see this go along with the previous one and will offer both for $1,800 firm.

Mr. Earl, I sure wish you had a ‘53 Special. I’m in need of a grill bar with extensions. Do you know if any junkyard in your vicinity has one? Athens isn’t too far away from Knoxville.

I sure wish you had a '53 Super 😁, I have some nice doors complete as well as the rusty ol junker. Sorry but no, the last big yard that had oldies in from the 40's just crushed everything about a year ago.

You notice something new? 😆I’ve found a new obsession,  called, sellin out. My main objective is to get it all into the hands of someone who can use it and at the same time make a few bucks in order to pay for some help finishing the BS&S. 😊

Any parts for a 56 special 2 door sedan?

many of the engine and drivetrain parts will interchange of course but as far as body stuff,  probably not much at all

I’ve been kicking myself for not grabbing that ‘56 Century dash face since I was down there in ‘17... lol

you’re welcome to still come get it, probably not as nice as it was though 😁

Noticed the 56 Wagon Special, is the glass intact or cracks?  I have a 56 Wagon and looking for the hard to find parts (trim, glass, etc).  Any help would be appreciated.

I live in Lansing, MI if I lived closer I’d swing by

thank you

I would, Just waiting for more pictures to see everything for it and also don’t have a ton of spare $$$ laying around. I do know it’s hard to find parts which is why I’d like to reach out and maybe get the whole car

Sale pending on the blue 54 Roadmaster

Sale pending on the 56 estate wagon

The 322 engine with adjustable rockers is sold

All 11 sets of 54-56 spark plug covers are sold

All gas door guards are sold

the '56 air cleaner is sold

While I am not that fond of Facebook, it's certainly a good place to sell 🙂 That is if the pending sales do go through....

1 gone, 12 (or is it 13) to go. These guys drove 14 hrs one way to pick up the ol ‘56 estate wagon I purchased years ago from  @progoofoff

Loved seeing this young man with such passion for his wagon project. Hard worker and very innovative.

Thanks for the purchase @ShawnO keep us posted on the project, maybe start a thread in the Custom/Performance forum.

when there’s not enough room to get good trailer alignment for loading you use a chain and comalong to pull it into alignment.

not to mention the fact it would have helped if there had been a steering wheel but there was no steering wheel because there was no steering column 🙄🤣

things went much smoother after someone suggested it might help to take it out of PARK 🙄😂F52886F8-BC07-463F-9E23-BF4DCC565240.jpeg.36c03288d07c616146e902170eb43ef8.jpeg

all in all it was a great day at the Gardens, now to rest my back a few days 😬

Lamar, how are the sales progressing?  I'm sure Rita, Elvis, and Cowpie are happy to see some of the Buick "stuff" leaving the yard....they're probably saying "Thankya Jesus, thankya Lord!".

Not so good, I think it might be the “pick your own part” nobody likes to turn wrenches left, they just like to open packages and find pristine 67 year old parts. 🙄

This guy and his dad drove down from Illinois and left with their Tahoe loaded with parts for his 54 Super. Great guys and fun day albeit sweltering. He later posted this on the 54,55,56 Facebook page

I went down to Buick Gardens and spent a wonderful Saturday afternoon with Lamar Brown and scored some good parts, heard some great stories and saw some awesome cars and projects. Mr Brown was so nice and helpful and fair on prices. He says he’s going to live to be 160 years old to finish up all his projects. I for one wish him the best!!!!!

How "well-picked" are the gardens these days?

'bout the same as a year ago I guess, haven't had time to look see. I hear used cars are bringing a premium these days🤣, you should come drag them all back to your yard, I'll make you a hell of a deal.
