John_S_in_Penna
When new, these svelte cars were expensive, well above the average person's car budget. Now they're bargains, about the value of a used Ford Taurus! For car fans, depreciation can be wonderful.
dmfconsult
That is a striking color! I don't think I've seen another Riviera in that color combo before. Is that the Olds 307?
Jolly_John
Yes, Doug, I imagine it is the Olds 307. So-so power for the nice and heavy Riviera. We've had a '79 Riv with the BUICK 350, and an '85 Riv with the 307. The 350 did a much better job of getting the car off the line, and for passing power at highway speeds. The 307 is O.K., but the 350 is that much better (as I see it). Not trying to start a feud with anyone on the forum!
