No clu what this car is can anyone tell me

We are cleaning out my grandmas property and found this. She says it has been here since she can remember. So I was wondering if anyone would reconize what it is and tell me what it is. Anything will help I want to have it rebuilt but I have now clue what it is. Comment below if you think you know what it is. I do know it has 6 cylinders.

Looks like a Chrysler 6 cylinder engine, used for many years in many variations and sizes.

I agree about the airport tug. Possibly even for aircraft towing. The dump box might be a later modification. There is probably an I.D. plate somewhere on the main chassis.

I just saw everyone’s reply’s and there is an I d tag on it but it is so warn you can not see it I will attach a picture of it I think that is the I d tag but I am not sure

Sorry I just saw your comment can you send me a picture of what the Chrysler 6 engine looks like I am very new to this but it looks like so I do not know what they look like

I thought that it was but I think it might of been painted over but maybe not it does not look like anything John Deere made I have been looking online for one like it but I have had no luck

That is the generator tag.  The engine serial number if I remember right would be stamped on the block, left side, upper center.

Late 1950s to mid 60s ?  It could be a fun yard toy.

Look just below where the horn is mounted on the block, there is a machined area on the side of the block( just below the head) and there should be a number there.

This is a 1948 Chrysler engine.  If you look just ahead of the black oil fill tube you can see the number.

The number is stamped into a area that was ground flat, just under the head.

The number on the right side of your photo may be a casting date code it may tell the day and month of the casting

The engine you have is an industrial engine that was used in all kinds of machinery.

That plate is worn off there’s nothing there anymore

I worked on a small Chrysler marine engine , it was a running engine that had less than 60 PSI compression and leaked close to a gallon of oil an hour.

The boat was back in service in two days.

Here is the pictures of the Head part number and intake and exhaust manifold numbers. The only thing is I cannot find the numbers on the water pump do I take the water pump off or am I looking at the wrong thing for the water pump

I was looking at info on flat head 6 cyl Chrysler engines and airport tug engines were listed.

I didn't look to deep but it looks like Chrysler's industrial dept. designed these for airports use in particular. They had been already been supplying industrial engines for tugs all though WWII.

They were also commonly seen in bullmoose cranes.  Back in the 1970's, the crane in our pipeyard had one.

I found out that my engine was painted blue would that be why I can not find a number that is supposed to be stamp where it is pictured or does that have nothing to do with that

I think it's a vehicle built by Clark, sometimes called a Clarktor. There are a lot of similarities, and whether the rear section is original or not? I don't know. But, there are a lot of similarities; the engine, hubs steering column.

I'm not an expert, however, looking online, at least some of them used a flat-head Chrysler.

I would take a wire brush to that stamping surface and get the paint and rust off. Maybe it's just my eyes but I think I can see a hint of a "zero" number. I believe you'll find the serial number under all that paint and rust.

I cleaned it off and I see nothing 

Does anyone know where is a place to put your part numbers to see what engine it is off of
