keiser31
1928 Chrysler roadster in the foreground. Looks to be a Packard parked in front of it. Edited April 2, 2021 by keiser31 (see edit history)
nzcarnerd
My first thoughts were Packard and Chrysler as well but the cover on the spare of the 'Packard' had me confused. The photo is dated April 1927 so which model Chrysler I am not sure.
Gunsmoke
Something like this pair, 1925 Packard, 1927 Chrysler 50. I note sign on building says Knickerbocker Used Cars! Edited April 2, 2021 by Gunsmoke (see edit history)
Walt G
That particular area of New York City was "automobile row" at the time. The West side of N.Y around 11th Ave. and Broadway ( which both ran north and south) from about 61st Street on the west side south had a huge number of auto dealerships, repair shops etc. Mostly because of the easier access to get automobiles there - railroad service at ground level then via the hi line, and eventually the tunnels under the Hudson River. . Plus all the docks along the Hudson River was were all the steam ships /ocean liners docked and their holds had automobiles arriving from Europe (mostly in a drivable chassis form to receive coach work here in the USA) . A number of custom coach builders were there as well and stables for horses to pull carriages as well ( some are still there to give you are ride around Central Park which is near by). keiser31
If that is a 1927 Chrysler, it is a "Finer 70" with those drum style headlamps. The other models had bullet style lamps.
viv w
The picture posted by Gunsmoke is a 1928 Model 52, if one looks at the dash and instruments. The picture posted by nzcarnerd I also think is a Chrysler in the foreground. If it is a Chrysler, then it is definitely a 4 cylinder car, because the 6 cylinder cars have a wider fender where it meets the side aprons and running board. With drum lights it will be either a model 58 or model 50.
